Grassroots talent shines in friendly challenge

On 21 March, Broomwood Tigers U14s faced Arsenal Academy U13s in a gripping friendly match on home turf. 

The visiting Arsenal squad, accompanied by five coaches and a dedicated first aider, demonstrated the high standards of Premier League academies. Despite this, Broomwood Tigers took the lead after half-time, delighting coach Sarah Richardson with a stellar midfield goal.

Ultimately, Arsenal’s quality showed through as the Tigers fell 1-4, but Richardson hailed the result as “remarkably respectable” for her grassroots side. The match showcased the Tigers’ spirit and skill, proving they can hold their own against elite competition.
