Balham Ballers Triumph in Trinity League Cup Thriller!
Balham Ballers Clinch Victory After Dramatic Penalty Shootout
On a blustery Sunday, 29 March, five local U9 girls’ 7-a-side teams braved the elements for the third annual Trinity League Cup—bringing energy and excitement to the pitch.
The Trinity League Cup aims to welcome new talent and nurture the next generation of players, giving clubs a chance to scout and build future squads.
Each side played four quick-fire, 8-minute matches, with Balham Ballers and Broomwood U9s battling through to a nail-biting 10-minute final. The teams couldn’t be separated in normal time, so it all came down to penalties!
The young players kept their cool under pressure, heeding their coaches’ wisdom as friends and family watched on. After some cracking shots and impressive saves, Balham Ballers—fielding just six girls—emerged triumphant. What a feat!
