Charitable Events and School Sports’ Days Getting Underway
Celebrating Community, Inclusion, and Sport in the Summer Term
As summer gets underway, the Trust is delighted to kick off another season of charitable events and school sports days, designed to inspire local children and foster community spirit.
The Trust’s ‘Trinity-branded’ events are a cornerstone of our commitment to offer free sporting opportunities to girls and boys from local state schools. Our aim is simple: to ensure as many young people as possible can enjoy sport and physical activity in a safe and welcoming environment.
The third edition of The Trinity Games opened the summer festivities on 19 May, with over 250 children from Years 1 to 3 participating from Wandsworth’s Smallwood, Holy Ghost and Anglo Portuguese Schools.
Every year, a new sport is introduced to keep the excitement alive—this time, tennis took centre stage, encouraging teamwork, skills development and plenty of smiles. The day wrapped up with the ever-popular Tug-O’War, a highlight that never fails to thrill the children.

Upcoming Highlights
June 2 – The Trinity Shield : Our annual cricket tournament welcomes around 100 Year 4 children from Ravenstone, Smallwood, Anglo Portuguese and Holy Ghost Schools. Supported by a specialist cricket coach, the event gives many children their first taste of cricket—though they quickly pick it up and enjoy the fun!
July 7 – Inclusion Games Festival: Dedicated to children with SEND, this festival invites nine schools and targets eight Key Stage 2 or 3 students from each, focusing on those with low engagement in physical activity. The event is designed to be as inclusive as possible, offering adapted activities and the chance for every child to represent their school in a supportive sporting environment.
Of course, the summer term wouldn’t be complete without the much-anticipated annual sports’ days too!
This year, we are thrilled to host a range of local state schools, including Trinity St. Mary, Ark John Archer Academy, Holy Ghost, Anglo Portuguese School, Nightingale Academy, The Montessori School (Balham), Marmalade Schools, as well as the Finton Fest and Hornsby House School sports day—both firm fixtures in our summer calendar.
The Fields will be a hive of activity, offering the sights and sounds of children enjoying the many benefits of sport. Passers-by and neighbours may notice a little more noise than usual, as PA systems help to create a lively and vibrant atmosphere for all.
