Future of the Fields - consultation and next steps

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our recent community consultation and outreach work. Whether you commented through our website, sent us an email, chatted to us on doorsteps or attended our event at Trinity Road Chapel, every piece of feedback and guidance is useful as our plans continue to develop and evolve.

We are currently reviewing each of the more than 250 responses we received. There appears to be broad support for the principle of improved year-round playing facilities which are directed specifically at local children and young people in line with our charitable objectives. This is very re-assuring for us.

We have also noted the concerns and questions raised, in particular from close by residents and neighbourhood bodies such as the Wandsworth Society and Friends of Wandsworth Common. We are addressing these as part of building the body of evidence to support our future proposals. This includes:

  • Transport

  • Trees and landscaping

  • Lighting, Noise and Air Quality

  • Ecology and biodiversity

  • Drainage/ flood risk

  • Visual impact

  • Operating hours

Our outreach with local state schools and sports clubs continues and is consistently positive about the potential facilities and their usage.

We also continue to discuss directly with local cricket clubs.

We are keen to maintain an open dialogue throughout this process and will be updating the FAQ on the Consultation page of our website as and when we have clear answers.

Thank you again for your feedback and your patience.
