Children with SEND enjoy a sports festival on our Fields

Despite the heatwave, we were delighted to welcome children with SEND to the second edition of a sports event organised by The Trust to focus exclusively on them.

Six local schools participated during the day on 7 July with 8-10 pupils from each school trying out a range of different sports and activities.

We are immensely grateful to Nick Miller, School Games Organiser and YST Inclusion Lead for Central London based at Southfields Academy who organised the day with us. We couldn’t have done it without the help from a team of Y9 girls from nearby Burntwood School who were completing their final external event in their Sports Leadership Course.

And most importantly of course thank you to the pupils from Fircroft, Sacred Heart Battersea, Ernest Bevin College, Oak Lodge, Burntwood and Garratt Park for making the day the success it was!

Over 1000 primary school pupils enjoy the Fields for their sports’ days

And as the summer term draws to a close, it has been a busy period on the Fields for school sports’ days.  We have welcomed over 1,000 primary school pupils in the last few weeks from Trinity St. Mary, Anglo Portuguese School, Holy Ghost, Ark John Archer and of course our major long-term users and partners, Hornsby House and Finton House.

Two nurseries sadly, but sensibly, cancelled due to the heatwave - we look forward to welcoming them again next year.
